Exercise is medicine for the body and brain! Staying physically active has positive effects on our general health and well-being. Exercise has been shown to reduce our risk of developing chronic diseases later in life. These include conditions like heart disease, chronic pain, cancer, dementia, diabetes and more!

Despite the benefits of exercise & healthy ageing, it is believed just 1 in 4 adults over the age of 65 are meeting the exercise requirements.
But…. How much exercise?
Australia’s National Guidelines Physical Activity Guidelines suggest older people should do some form of physical activity. It is recommended older people exercise at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on most, if not all, days.
That sounds like a lot, doesn’t it?…. If you are unable to do 30 minutes, we recommend you start with 10 minute blocks and gradually build your exercise time up to 30 minutes. Getting Started!
Ways we can help… Accredited Exercise Physiologists are qualified allied health professionals to help older people move more! We prescribe exercise and offer exercise classes to assist those living with injuries or chronic diseases. Exercises prescribed are safe and specific to your goals and needs.
